Tactical Flashlight Review | Fenix TK65R 3200 Lumen Flashlight

TK65R has been discontinued. See the new favorite for security, the compact LR35R flashlight!

The TK65R flashlight was a very popular unit in its time. The baton-style body made it great for self-defense and the strike bezel on its head was excellent for glass breaking in emergencies. But, all good things must come to an end. The TK65R has been discontinued, and you're probably wondering "what is the best security flashlight from Fenix now that the TK65R is gone?" Well, in its absence, a new top security flashlight has been chosen: The LR35R.

The Fenix LR35R is different than the TK65R in many ways, the most obvious of which is the body design. The LR35R rechargeable flashlight is much shorter than the TK65R was and it features a rectangular body instead of a cylindrical one. Now you may wonder why the LR35R is the best flashlight for security work considering that it is so different from the previous favorite. The answer is that the LR35R has many features that, while different from the TK65R flashlight, still make it a great choice for such an important job.

Fenix LR35R Ultrabright Rechargeable Flashlight

The first reason that the LR35R is a great security light is really two reasons: it is a small but super bright LED flashlight. The LR35R is only 5.5 inches but achieves an amazing 10,000 lumens. Never before have we seen so much output from such a small flashlight! It is truly incredible!

The second reason is the awesome wide beam angle. The 90 degree beam angle will spread that light all over your patrol area. See every corner at once with the LR35R!

In addition to these great features, you'll also get USB Type-C fast charging and 2 included rechargeable 21700 batteries.

Hello, and welcome to a special two-part discussion of the Fenix TK65R, the best light for use by security personnel. I'm Jacob and let's get started. The Fenix TK65R is a brand new rechargeable LED flashlight from Fenix that is now available here on fenix-store.com. The light has a very impressive 3200 lumen maximum output and a 1200 foot throw. The light features a micro-USB fast charging port with an interior waterproofing design, and a lockout function, as well as the specialized catapult action belt clip that allows you to hold the light on your belt and easily access it with the press of a button. The reason that this light, the Fenix TK65R, would very much be considered very possibly the best flashlight for use by security personnel is because of its size, the general shape, the brightness, and of course the belt clip which is a very unique design, one that we've never seen before on any other flashlights and one that is really going to be great I think.

The belt clip will fit on any belts that are less than 15mm in width. That's about just a little less than 2", and so it's a very easy to use clip. It'll fit on a lot of belts. The catapult action clip on it, it clips onto the flashlight so you can hold it on your side. Then you just click a button on the side of the holster, and the flashlight just pops right off. It makes it really easy to access. It keeps it out of the way. It's a larger flashlight so you wouldn't be able to put it on a traditional belt holster or in your pocket of course so this belt clip makes it perfect for that. You carry it on your belt, you see something you need to look at, and you pop that thing off and shine the light. It's got two buttons, one for power and modes and the other for the flashing modes. You pop it off, turn it on, or turn on the strobe, immediately has an instant strobe which will strobe at 3200 lumens. It's just a immediate access flashlight.

The size, because it's large and it's a little heavier, it also could be used quite effectively as a self-defense weapon, a blunt instrument. That would also be really great for security purposes. If you run into somebody and you need to defend yourself, you just hit them with the flashlight and the size and the design of it is really effective for that in addition to the strobe mode. It does feature a lockout function so if you want to activate that, you won't turn it on by accident. It is easy enough to get out of that. You will not be stuck in the brightness level, or in lockout mode that is. You don't have to worry about the light breaking if you do use it as a self-defense tool. It is made out of a very durable aircraft-grade aluminum and has a stainless steel strike bezel. The body of the light is made out of a tough aluminum, and then so you can hit someone with that or use the strike bezel at the end of the light which is made out of stainless steel which will absolutely be able to handle that type of a strike.

The built-in 5000mAh battery will allow you to easily ... The light will easily last through your shift with the high output level of 1000 lumens acting for about 5 hours. Then the turbo setting at 3200 lumens acting at one hour and 45 minutes. Most of the time you won't need them to be that bright so you also have the medium setting at 400 lumens for 13 hours, and that way you know that you will always have the light available and ready to go throughout a night shift or anything like that. Thank you very much for joining us today to talk about the TK65R rechargeable flashlight, and thank you very much for choosing Fenix-Store. Have a great day.

Hello everyone. This is John. Today I'm going to go over part two of why the Fenix TK65R is the best flashlight for security personnel. One of the main reasons why this TK65R is perfect for security and other personnel would be the super high 3,200 lumens, that also comes with its own catapult action belt clip. It's perfect for having on the belt along with all the other items included on a duty belt. You can quickly access this flashlight, there'll essentially be a spotlight in the palm of your hands.

This tough flashlight does feature a durable structure and powerful performance. It does have a Cree XPH70 LED and it does, like I said, emit 3,200 lumens and it reaches 375 meters. It does have that catapult action belt clip, so it can be easily and quickly detached from the flashlight. It is IP68 rated as well. It is essentially fearless of any environment and challenge, especially when used in the security and other searching and law enforcement personnel. It does include a micro USB recharging and it does include a adapter that makes the charging process only about four hours.

Now quickly I will go ahead and go over the different modes on the Fenix TK65R. The turbo, like I said, is 3,200 lumens. That runs for about an hour and 45 minutes, and it reaches 375 meters. The high mode is 1,000 lumens. It does have a four hour and 55 minute runtime. The medium is 400 lumens for a 13 hours and 10 minute runtime. The low is 150 lumens for 35 hours and 45 minutes. Then there's an eco mode that is 30 lumens, and that runs for about 113 hours.

The Fenix TK65R does include a strobe and SOS mode. The strobe will operate at the max 3,200 lumens and the SOS mode will operate at 400 lumens, the medium mode. The Fenix TK65R does include its own battery. It does come with, it's a 5,000 milliamp, 7.2 volt battery pack. It can be actually randomly inserted without distinguishing the polarity markings. The battery does include a built in protective circuit.

Now we'll go back and highlight the catapult action belt clip, mainly because that is one of the biggest reasons why the Fenix TK65R is a perfect fit for security personnel. The belt clip is applicable to belt width less than 2.17 millimeters. All you do is you press the button on the side of it and the flashlight itself will be, quote-unquote, catapulted out. It is designed that does make for quick attachment and detachment and does allow quick action press, so there's no more need to fumble around for the flashlight itself, and no need to actual find the flashlight and have trouble actually needing it fast, needing it quickly.

It does have two different switches, the general mode and the flash mode. One will operate the main five modes and the flash mode will operate the other two. It does have a lockout function as well, we you will simply just press both the buttons at the same time for about three seconds and that will lock it. You do the same thing to unlock it.

It does include a stainless steel strike bezel, makes it very aggressive looking and perfect for tactical use. TheTK65R is digitally regulated. It does have a intelligent overheat protection. It does have intelligent memory. It also has the low voltage warning. To go over the low voltage, it does have ... To highlight the low voltage, it does have a little four LEDs on the end of the flashlight, which will actually indicate the battery level so you always know what the battery status is of the flashlight.

That is the Fenix TK65R. I hope I was able to inform you a little bit more about the TK65R and why it is a perfect fit for security personnel. I do highly recommend that if you are in law enforcement or part of security detail, or whatever. I would highly recommend taking a look at the Fenix TK65R as it is very, very bright and it is a very perfect fit on the belt and it's very quick access to a very powerful flashlight. I hope you enjoyed it and hope you all have a great day. Thanks for stopping by.
