    Yes, it can be, but the lantern will only be used in the Low output while charging.

    What batteries work in the Fenix CL30R lantern?

    The Fenix CL30R lantern is compatible with three 18650 li-ion battery or six non-rechargeable CR123 lithium batteries. 18650 batteries used must be button-top style batteries. Flat-top 18650 batteries will not work in the CL30R.
