Warning
- Do not place this tactical light within reach of children.
- Do not shine this tactical light directly into the eyes of anyone.
- Do not place the light head near flammable objects — high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite.
- Do not use this tactical light in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth; doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the tactical light or internal battery fails.
- This tactical light will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the light shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns.
- Remove the battery or loosen the light head to prevent accidental activation when the tactical light is placed in a closed, flammable environment such as pockets or backpacks.
- The LED of this tactical light is not replaceable; the whole tactical light must be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its lifespan.

Technical Parameters (ANSI/PLATO FL1)
- ARB-L18-3400: Output 800 lumens, Runtime 135 minutes*, Max Distance 630 meters, Max Intensity 100,000 candela
- 2 x CR123A: Output 800 lumens, Runtime 70 minutes, Max Distance 630 meters, Max Intensity 100,000 candela
Impact Resistance: 1 meter | Submersible/Waterproof: IP68 (GL30R alone), IP66 (GL30R + AER-07 attached)
*Output is measured in a total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism in the design. Specs measured by Fenix using one ARB-L18-3400 rechargeable battery or two CR123A batteries at 21±3°C / 50–80% humidity; real-world performance varies.
Mounting
The GL30R comes with two standard Picatinny rail (MIL-STD-1913) mount kits and one M-Lok mount kit for flexible installation at any position on the rail. The included AER-07 also comes with its own Picatinny and M-Lok mount kits. After connecting the AER-07 to the GL30R, rotate its plug to lock it securely. For optimal performance, ensure all screws are fully tightened during installation.
Operating Instructions
GL30R Tactical Tail Switch: fully press the tactical tail switch to turn the light on/off. With the light off, tap the switch to momentarily turn it on. Note: when the GL30R is turned on with the tail switch, it cannot be turned off with the AER-07.
AER-07 Tactical Remote Pressure Switch: features a side locking slider to lock/unlock both switches. Switch 1 is a forward-clicky switch (single click to turn the light on/off); Switch 2 is a silent switch (single click to momentarily turn the light on). Note: when the GL30R is turned on with the AER-07, it cannot be turned off with the tail switch — disconnect the AER-07 to turn off the GL30R.
Battery Specifications and Installation
- Fenix ARB-L18-3400 (18650, 3.6V): Recommended
- Other 18650 Battery (18650, 3.6V): Usable
- 2 x CR123A (3.0V): Usable
Unscrew the light head and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light head back on.
Charging and Battery Level Indication
Connect the USB Type-C charging cable (after removing the AER-07). The indicator shows red while charging and turns green when fully charged; a full charge of the ARB-L18-3400 takes about 2 hours with a 5V/3A adapter (5V, max 12W/2.4A — does not support fast charging; do not charge while using two CR123A batteries).
Each time the light is turned on, the indicator shows battery level for 3 seconds: green on (100–85%), green flashing (85–50%), red on (50–25%), red flashing at 6Hz (25–1%). Battery level indication only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 series battery.
Intelligent Overheat Protection and Low-Voltage Warning
At 60°C/140°F or above, the light automatically steps down output to reduce temperature, recalling the preset level once it cools below that threshold. When voltage drops below the preset level, output gradually decreases; the indicator blinks rapidly to signal it's time to recharge or replace the battery (ARB-L18 series only).
Usage and Maintenance
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage and will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the light won't be used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent electrolyte-leakage damage.
- Clean the lens regularly, and replace the O-ring if worn to maintain a proper water seal.
- Avoid contaminating internal components with organic solvents during maintenance — this voids warranty service.
- Periodic cleaning of battery contacts (cotton swab + rubbing alcohol) prevents flickering or failure to illuminate from dirty contacts; a poor battery charge should be recharged or replaced.
- If issues persist, contact your authorized distributor.
